Amalite ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Amalite mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you create an account or use the App:

Name — provided by you during sign-up, used to personalize your proposals.
Email address — used for account verification via OTP and account identification.
Freelancer profile data — your skill, experience level, hourly rate, location, bio, and past work examples. Stored locally on your device and used solely to generate proposals.
Job descriptions — text you paste into the app to generate proposals. Sent to our AI backend for processing and not stored permanently on our servers.
Proposal usage count — stored locally on your device to track free proposal limits.
Proposal history — stored locally on your device only. We do not store your proposals on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

To verify your identity via email OTP during sign-up and sign-in.
To generate AI-powered Upwork proposals based on your profile and the job description you provide.
To manage your account and Pro subscription status.
To send transactional emails (verification codes only — no marketing emails).

3. Data Storage and Security

Your profile data and proposal history are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage. Your email and name are stored in our secure PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway (US West region). Job descriptions you paste are sent to our backend for AI processing and are not permanently stored on our servers.

We use industry-standard security practices including HTTPS encryption for all data transmission.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Google Gemini API — processes job descriptions to generate proposals. Data is subject to Google's privacy policy.
Resend — sends OTP verification emails. Only your email address is shared.
Railway — hosts our backend server and database.
Razorpay — processes payments for Pro subscriptions. We do not store payment card details.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information (name and email) for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at [email protected]. Local device data (profile, history) is deleted when you uninstall the app or clear app data.

6. Children's Privacy

Amalite is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

7. Your Rights

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your account and data.
Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
